Erik Selvig and Idris Elba as Heimdall also both provide a lot of enjoyment in their performances, albeit for very different reasons: Skarsgard brings a nice dose of comic relief (after having portrayed a more serious version of the character in Thor), while Elba brings a sense of gravitas to the proceedings, similar to his portrayal of the character in Thor. Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif, Renee Russo as Frigga, and Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis all bring a lot of charm and strength to their roles, and made me wish they all had more screen time. There are definitely things to like about this film–the supporting cast is especially strong in this one, for example. They have released some very mediocre movies, however, and to me this is the most mediocre of them all. Marvel Studios is to be commended in that they have never released a BAD movie. This is not to say that Thor: The Dark World is a bad film.

So, for me, Thor: The Dark World holds the distinction of being the worst movie in the MCU. After this rewatching, although I disliked both movies less than I did in the previous rewatch, I do think Iron Man 2 is slightly better than this one. I said in my review of Iron Man 2 that I would have to determine whether it or this film was the worst the MCU has to offer.
